The Fourth of July celebrations are the main feature, associated with the population of Bristol, Rhode Island. No one parties more than the townsfolk here! The Annual Bristol Blues Vintage Baseball game kick starts the Independence Day celebrations every year and other events include a military, civic and firefighters parade. The deep sea port took its name from Bristol in England and has grown into a cosmopolitan town with many people of Italian and Portuguese descent. Two of the major industries are tourism and boat construction.

The town is also noted for its many historic exhibits that reflect the culture and history of the Bristol Rhode Island area. Maritime history is a big part of that and the Herreshoff Marine Museum has a collection of boats, steam engines and historic photographs. There is a gift shop and the America’s Cup Hall of Fame. The Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology exhibits kayaks, canoes, textiles and Hopi dolls. There is also a history of weapons display. Other collections look to the outside world and include Chinese Taoist paintings and religious artifacts from Africa.

Coggeshall Farm Museum gives an insight into the everyday rural life in the region. A 1790 farmhouse and blacksmith’s shop take visitors back in time. They can stroll through the pastures and kitchen garden and children can pet the farm animals. Mount Hope Farm offers tours for the public, where they can walk through the saltwater farm and its woods, streams, fields and ponds. The farm is also available to hold functions.

Linden Place, on the waterfront, is an elegant 1810 mansion. The grand house and grounds are open to the public, who may recognize it from its use in The Great Gatsby film, starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum is another elegant example of the fine life, as enjoyed by the wealthy of Bristol Rhode Island. The large house was built in the style of an English manor house.

The town is also known for its liberal arts university, Roger Williams University. It was founded in 1956 and is a private, co-educational establishment with degree courses that include law, marine biology and architecture. The university has attracted many respected guest speakers and has collaborative programs with other universities across the world. Sport is also an important part of the curriculum and there are 16 varsity athletic teams, representing this educational stronghold in Bristol Rhode Island.

I noticed that this song is not accompanied by visuals. Well, now it is!… In rough storyboard form that is hehe… Hope you enjoy!

Thanks to AwkwardMarina for giving me permission to post this up!

EDIT (11/25/2012): Woahwoahwoah! What the hay!? This got EQD’d!? Wow.. 😯 Thank you very much! As for if I’m gonna fully animate this.. I’m not sure. Perhaps in the near future, considering all the positive feedback this seems to be getting xD;; Once again, thank you!

EDIT (11/27/2012): What. What. More than 20,000 views in less than a week. What. I didn’t expect this video to be THIS popular! Thank you very much! I’m really happy that you’re enjoying the video, considering it’s only a rough storyboard. 8DD

EDIT (12/30/2012): 160,000 views. Wow. I have nothing to say but thank you. Also, my answers to some questions have changed a bit:

Q: Are you going to animate this?
A: That’s the big question, isn’t it? Well, due to how well received the storyboards are and my growing confidence in my animation abilities, I’m finally giving in and planning on animating my storyboards. When will it come out? I don’t know, but animation takes a lot of time and I want to make it good quality.

Q: I can animate this for you if you want!
A: Thank you for the offer, and I’m really flattered that you’re willing to offer your time to animate my storyboard. However, I’m currently in no need for help with animation, but if I do, I’ll definitely let you guys know. Also, (and this is more of a personal thing), if this storyboard were to be animated, I’d like to animate it myself in my own style. I know that sounds a bit selfish, but I’d like to see it completed the way I envisioned it, you know?
